Debra DeVilbiss has been helping people transform their
lives for over ten years through her workshops and
individual coaching.

Her mission is to facilitate change in others and to “feed efflorescence.” Efflorescence is the process of a flower opening.  When a person is in touch with their true essence, they are like a flower blooming.

Debra is passionate about you living your right livelihood. Whether you are in a career transition or looking toward what to do in retirement, when you live a life that honors who you are and honors your most important values, then life is much simpler. You don’t have to agonize over choices.

Because you know your values and have found "the grain in your own wood," your decisions are easier. You don’t have to mold yourself to something that doesn’t fit.

She began her work with those seeking a better life in 1994 as an Employment Specialist with the CO Department of Labor and Employment.  Her 3-day workshop designed to help those who were recently laid off continued monthly for three years during a particularly tough economic time for manufacturing and high tech.

It was during this time that she discovered the profession of coaching and formally entered training in 1998.  Two years later, she took her coaching business full-time working with individual clients, and continued creating and leading workshops.  In Feb. 2001, she completed all her coursework and the exam process to be come a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach.

In her commitment to continuing education, she completed coursework and the exam process to become a Certified Retirement Coach in Feb. 2004.  In 2006, she qualified through the International Coach Federation (ICF), the credentialing organization for the coaching profession, as a Professional Certified Coach (PCC).  She has also studied under the tutelage of Maria Nemeth, author of The Energy of Money. and Gregg Levoy, author of Callings.

Know that when you work with Debra on your career, retirement or life transitions, that you are working with a committed professional.

Debra served on the Board of Directors as both Treasurer and President of the Boulder Coaches Alliance (sequentially), an international, award winning chapter of the International Coach Federation (ICF).  In her on-going role as a leader in the coaching community, she served as Treasurer for the Colorado Coalition of Coaches, a group formed to influence landmark legislation affecting the coaching profession.

Outside the work setting, Debra continued her passions to help people blossom.  She led a volunteer group of coaches aligned with Project Work Together (PWT) through Workforce Boulder County. PWT is a program that matches persons receiving public assistance with a mentor to help guide them over life’s rough paths.  A team consisting of 18 volunteer Professional Life Coaches was developed and led by Debra,  who matched them with volunteer clients who were in the process of transitioning from public assistance to self-sufficiency.

In addition to coaching individual clients, the PWT coaches created a series of workshops designed to help the volunteer clients get in touch with who they are, what blocks show up to try to stop them, and what action steps they can take now to move forward.  Though the coaching component of this program is no longer active, the workshops contine.

Her current passion is to develop an internal coaching program, similar to her work with Workforce Boulder County, and bring it into her workplace.

In her off time , Debra loves to crochet fine lace, read and spend summers camping and flyfishing. One of 13 children, there is never a lack of accommodations wherever her travels take her, especially in Louisiana where her 89 year-old Cajun mother lives.
