What happens in Life Coaching?

Life Coaching is possibly one of the most important things you can do for yourself. Certainly you can deepen your own learning and forward your own action, and over time – perhaps a long time, you will make changes that need to be made to better your life. Everyone has the capacity to do that. Life Coaching can expedite the process.

It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.

We begin with a strategy meeting that lasts about 2 hours. We talk about what you want to be different in your life and how you think Life Coaching can help with that. We look at how your life is balanced, what areas need attention, where you can cut back to give yourself room. We set primary areas of focus so that your ultimate goals are met.

The Life Coach asks powerful questions, makes requests, and listens deeply to truly hear what you’re saying. A Life Coach will challenge you with questions you don’t ask yourself, and will ask you to examine parts of your life that you’ve been ignoring. A Life Coach holds a magnifying glass up so you can see yourself in a new perspective. And through it all, a Life Coach will hold you as being the magnificent person you truly are.

At this strategy meeting we will decide what the coaching partnership will look like. We will “lock in” a time that works for us both to meet weekly by phone. The majority of my clients request 4 30-minute phone calls per month, however, we decide together what works best for us. Working with a Life Coach long distance is easily done.

Every positive change – every jump to a higher level of energy and awareness- involves a rite of passage. Each time to ascend to a higher rung on the ladder of personal evolution, we must go through a period of discomfort, of initiation. I have never found an exception.

Are you ready for a Life Coach?

Many people hire a Life Coach for different reasons. Those that are most successful:

  • Recognize that they do have power over their life
  • Are willing to self-examine
  • Keep promises, to themselves and to others
  • Are curious and willing to learn

You get the most benefit from a Life Coach when you are ready to make a change. What you need for a desired or directed change are vision, skills, incentives, resources and a plan. When there is no vision, you feel confused. Inadequate skills leave you anxious while not knowing about the resources available, or not using what is available to you, will leave you feeling frustrated. A life without a plan leaves you with a lot of false starts.

A Life Coach can help you along each step of the way. Visioning will create intentions and a goal to pull you forward. Identifying skills and resources will give you the tools you need to create your life’s passion. When you have a vision and tools, your incentive to make a plan skyrockets. And a Life Coach will hold you accountable so this marvelous plan you’ve created doesn’t end up forgotten in the bottom of a drawer.

There is a marvelous permission you give yourself when you hire a Life Coach. The permission to become who you truly are and to live the life you really want.

If it feels like the right thing to do, contact me for a complimentary sample session to see if our styles are a good match. You’ll be amazed at how your life can change.

As long as you live, keep learning how to live
