Hello ~
Earlier
this week I returned from the most amazing workshop called "Mastering
Life's Energies" created and presented by Maria Nemeth, Ph.
D., author of The Energy of Money. Wooo Hoooo!
What insight!
I'll speak
a little more about one specific concept in the article below
and you just may hear more on it in a later newsletter.
I'm still digesting the concepts and applying them to my life.
Which makes
me wonder, what have you learned lately and how do you apply them
to your life? I like this quote by Dr. Robert Anthony: "If
you don't change your beliefs, your life will be like this forever.
Is this good news?" Applying new concepts is difficult
because it asks you to challenge your current beliefs, or as Maria
Nemeth calls it, your structure of knowing.
Your beliefs
(or structure of knowing) are your filter to your life.
It's like looking through a pair of purple eyeglasses. You
see certain colors, but others are muddy and unclear. The
color purple simply doesn't show up at all. Your structure
of knowing acts the same way. It filters what comes in,
distorting some things and rendering others invisible. Examining
your beliefs helps you to open your eyes. What are you missing?
Let me know how it goes
for you.
P.S.
Thanks to everyone who forwarded this newsletter on to a friend!
Between those new additions, and my discovering a way to include
those who had signed up previously but were not receiving their
issues as requested, the subscription delivery rate has doubled.
Wooo Hooo!
I
appreciate my readers, each and every one!
What
is Plugging Your Energy Flow?
We all
know what it feels like to be energetic. You have a spring
in your step and nothing can stop you. Things happen smoothly
and thoughts come easily. Wouldn't it be great if it were
that way all the time?
Maria Nemeth,
Ph. D. uses a metaphor to describe energy coming into our life.
It's as if there were a vast reservoir of energy out in
the universe somewhere and it is plugged into each of us via a
conduit or a pipe. When we feel powerful, the energy is
flowing easily, but when things are hard and we feel stuck and
sluggish, we need to look closely to see where the pipe is plugged
up or leaking.
This energy
shows up in our lives in six different forms. If you think
about it, you will recognize that each form of energy has a flow.
These forms are: money, time, creativity, physical vitality,
enjoyment and relationship. They are all interrelated and
impact each other because our lives are holographic.
Now what
the heck does that mean? If you take the negative of a regular
photograph of a tree and cut it into pieces, each piece will show
a part of the tree. If you cut up the negative of a hologram
of the same picture and shine a lazer through a piece, you will
see the whole tree. Isn't that interesting? So if
you were to make a change to one piece, it would impact every
other piece. This is explained in more detail in a book
called The Holograhic Universe by Michael Talbot.
It's the
same with energy. If, for example, you balance your checkbook
to the penny and are in integrity with your bank account (clearing
the sludge from your money energy conduit), your life will shift
imperceptably and you will be in deeper integrity everywhere.
By the same token, if you keep a promise to yourself regarding
your physical vitality (I won't eat a donut for morning coffee
break) then that integrity will reflect throughout your life.
It acts like a hologram.
What makes
this so powerful is that it doesn't matter if you do big things
or little things, ANY change has an impact. That means that
the goals you set don't have to be big, like "I'll travel
to Italy this fall." It can be something as simple
as I'll clear off my desk tonight before I leave the office.
Keeping that small promise has as much impact in your energy as
keeping the big one.
Learning
where you are leaking energy and where your conduits are plugged
up to allow energy to flow more easily is the most powerful way
I know to create real and lasting change in your life. For
some ideas on how to discover your leaks and plugs and how they
impact your career change, see the Career
Tip below.

Career
Tip - Creating Flow
Changing
careers is one way of channeling your flow of energy into a different
direction, one that is in more alignment with who you are.
When your conduit is open and clear for all six forms of energy,
then happenstance and serendipity can work in your favor.
You can
begin to discover where your energy does not have an open conduit
by looking at what bugs you. No kidding. Things that
you "tolerate" drain your energy. For example,
say you're listening to a lovely piece of music in your den, and
the next door neighbor's teenager decides to pump up the rap music
while he shoots hoops in the driveway. Part of your energy
is going into listening and part is going in to NOT listening.
It's a leak. Clear up the toleration and you regain energy.
I challenge
you to make a list of at least 100 things that you are tolerating
right now. If you're the linear type, you can divide them
into the six categories of money, time, creativity, physical vitality,
enjoyment, and relationship. It makes more sense to me to
just randomly list. For example some things on my list are:
Donate
the extra shoes and purses that I don't use to my local charity.
Sort through
the spices in my kitchen and toss the old ones.
Design
a way to remember to call my mom more.
Sew a button
on my linen blouse.
Organize
the wrapping paper and ribbons left over from Christmas
You get
the idea. After you make your list, then do something about
3 things this week. Make them small, doable, and set a specific
time to have them done. Make yourself accountable to someone
else if that will help (Call me! I'm happy to hold you in
a place of integrity.) Then notice what shifts in your life.
Let me
know how it goes for you!
